My Story

My journey with healing arts began after the passing of my mother in 1994.  After a healing pilgrimage to Esalen Institute, I received a transformational massage and rediscovered a passion for plants.  I then left the business world where I had been working in Public Relations to enroll in herb school in Boulder.  After 3 years of study I became a Certified Clinical Herbalist (CCH) and practiced as an Herbalist, offering consultations for several years.  During this time I experienced extremely painful cramping with menstruation which led me to receive Arvigo Technique® Maya Abdominal Massage, which with diligent self care removed my symptoms.  I then made a pilgrimage to Belize, Central America where I began the study of Arvigo Therapy to become a certified practitioner.  Later I became a community based Educator and am now a Self Care Instructor of the Arvigo Technique®.  I studied Massage Training in Boulder and became a licensed therapist. I also studied Acupressure in Berkeley, CA.  I focused on Shiatsu as an elective and pre natal and post partum massage while in Massage School.  I worked at Longmont United Hospital’s Health Center of Integrative Therapies as an integrative massage therapist for ten years, leaving to practice full time in my private practice in 2014.  After receiving training in Medical Oncology Massage from Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York, I designed a program that was implemented for inpatient care at Longmont United Hospital, and Boulder Community Hospital’s, Tebo Cancer Center for outpatients.  I also worked at the Birthplace giving massage to post partum mothers.

In my private practice in Boulder I have focused on Arvigo Technique® Maya Abdominal Massage and Integrative Massage for the last 15 years.  I have touched many bellies and am passionate about this therapy.
I have also been on the amazing journey of studying Phenomenal Touch Massage with Leslie Bruder in Boulder, CO and am a practitioner of this modality as well.  This has led me to my collaboration with Christina Turco in 2014 and our synthesis of collective tools for four handed massage.  We together have also attended training in Access Consciousness which also informs our dance.  As long time dancers in the community we fuse our movement into our massages.

A passionate outdoors woman, I enjoy coaching cross country skiing, mountain biking, paddle boarding, hiking, camping, playing with my daughter and dog, traveling, dancing, creating joy, and writing.  Living in possibility I am excited to be constantly creating in the now.
